Aliant’s Barry Smith Appointed Employment Judge, Amongst the Youngest Members

Aliant is pleased to announce that Barry Smith, Associate (London) has been appointed by the Lord Chancellor of England and Wales as an Employment Judge (Fee-Paid). At the age of 35, he will be amongst the youngest members of the judiciary in England and Wales. The Employment Tribunal jurisdiction includes cases involving unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing, redundancy and pay disputes. As this is a part-time role, Mr. Smith will continue to practice at Aliant in his core areas of civil, criminal and regulatory litigation and corporate advisory.
